The Art Spirit Gallery of Fine Art, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
The next time you are in Coeur d’Alene, be sure to stop by The Art Spirit Gallery of Fine Art Gallery. I am pleased to announce that nine of my pieces of fine art will be on display in the gallery.
You’ll want to view all paintings that are on display and for sale there. You can enjoy my new works in person at the gallery from April 9 through May 8, 2021. On the other hand, if you are not able to visit the gallery in person, they are available online as well.
The pieces chosen for display include landscapes featuring water, reflections, light, and shadow. There is a loving portrait of two iconic characters representing the southwest. In addition, several pieces explore rural and small-town scenes that include forgotten buildings and a long, unspoken history.
Further, I focus on light and shadow to bring out abstract qualities in my work. These appear in the puzzling shapes that warp over the surfaces. I use the colors and tones, along with bright contrasting whites and shadows created by the hot sun.
My works explore the western landscape and its people in a manner that makes the ordinary extraordinary. I depict the beauty in the unnoticed and represent the ambiance of a place and time that has a special, memorable, or familiar iconic presence.
With over 40 years as a dedicated painter I am still looking for complex and hidden compositions in the seemingly simplest of places.
